2008-03-15 Edged Weapon Seminar

March 15Th 2008 Edged Weapon Seminar, dagger, double dagger, empty hands v dagger and double dagger. New drills recently developed will be released for the first time. The seminar will be totally free to those who attended the RIMA seminar. This seminar will focus on three things.

1. technical aspects (disarms , returns, destruction's ,finishes)
2. Range ( distance awareness) as it pertains to the above.
3. Flow ( how to learn to survive when the technical will not present itself redily)

Cost:

• $50 to those who did not attendthe previous RIMA seminar.
• $45 if you pay by 1st of march.

Sifu/Guro Jon Rister will be going out to Inosanto academy. Sifu/Guro Jon has a long training background with Guro Inosanto, who is considered to be one of the foremost experts in the Filipino Martial arts. He is also a former training partner of the late Bruce Lee and is one of only two people in the world certified by Bruce Lee to teach his art.

Sifu Rister will teach knife defence from 1 to 5 pm at Wu Hsin Kuen Academy of Martial Arts, Irving, TX. Attendance fee is $40.

Sifu Rister continues to teach police forces in 2007

Sifu Rister continues to teach Police forces at N.C.T.O.C. New officers from all over north Texas will be required to attend. Sifu Rister's course is required for them to graduate police acedemy and become active police officers. Since 2005, most of the north Texas recruits have participated this course.

Jun Fan/Muay Thai first class and Kali/Silat second class. Price is $100 per month for each and $200 per month for both. Wing Chun is taught in private lessons only. The prices for private lessons are:

• 75$ for 30 minutes.
• 150$ per hour.

Sifu Rister continues to teach police forces

Sifu Rister has taught 53 new police recriuts. He has been working with special operations division as well teaching CQC/SWAT.

Self-defence/awareness class on Dec 9 2006

There will be a self-defense/awareness class held at WHK usa on december 9th 2006 taught by sifu Jon Rister on CQC/survival aggressive close range threat elimination. Dwight wilson will teach as well, stressing awareness related to combat tactics.

Sifu/Guro Rister's seminar in Finland 23-26.11.

Sifu/Guro Rister will travel to Finland on thanksgiving weekend. He will cover the arts in WHK curriculum in Oulu in a weekend seminar.

Thanks to everyone who attended the single stick seminar. We will arrange Muay Thai camp at Wu Hsin Kuen academy 28-30.8. Additionally, we will include Jun fan gung fu and grappling and advanced Kali training.

Sifu Rister to teach at the Texas police academy

Sifu Rister will teach edged weapons class for Texas police academy. He has taught already two sets of recruits, a total of 51 police cadets. Now he is being asked to teach officers once per week at the N.C.T.C.O.G. regional police academy in Arlington for in service officers. These classes will be on Mondays from 6PM to 730 PM. He has also been asked to teach the DFW police perimeter team a close quarter combat class in May.

Over 30 Hours of Intense Training

Sifu/Guro Jon Rister established the Wu Hsin Kuen Martial Arts Academy in 1987. Wu Hsin Kuen (pronounced Woo Shin Koon) can be translated from Chinese to mean "no thought fighting" or "non thinking fist". Sifu Rister understands the importance of having the ability to react and flow naturally when faced with a dangerous situation can mean the difference between success and failure. He is an instructor in Wing Chun (Chinese martial art) under Sifu Francis Fong and under Guro Dan Inosanto in Kali (Filipino martial arts) and Jun Fan Gung Fu (Bruce Lee's fighting method).

Nate Kempton has over 35 years of field experience in tracking and survival skills allows him to garner volumes of information from the tracks and sign left behind on the earth. For Nate reading the physical, emotional, and mental states in tracks are possible. Nate was taught traditional Native American techniques in pattern recognition, patience and observation from his grandfather. He has taught tracking and trailing techniques to members of the elite Navy Seals, Navy Aviators, Army Rangers, FBI, and other law enforcement personnel.

Dwight Wilson has over 20 years of woods experience tracking wildlife and humans. He has tracked professionally for the National Park Service and Texas A&M University. Dwight has trained with some of the nations best trackers including Charles Worsham, Paul Rezendes, and Tom Brown's Tracker School. He has provided training for the FBI Dallas Evidence Response Team in man tracking, wildlife tracking, mammal behavior, field survival skills, and land navigation.

Knife seminar Aug 8th, 2005

Aug 8th, 2005. Sifu/Guro Jon Rister will be holding a knife seminar at the Wu Hsin Kuen Academy in Irving, TX, from 12 pm until 4 pm. The price is $40.
