Muay Thai

muaythai3 Muay Thai, translated into English as Thai boxing, was brought to America from Thailand. Muay Thai is the national sport of Thailand and its origins date back to ancient battlefield tactics and weapon arts. It is quickly gaining notoriety in the USA for it's quickness and devastating kicking system.

muaythai Muay Thai techniques consist of punches, kicks, elbows, knees and standing grappling. This is a tough art in which one must be well conditioned as well as skilled in it's techniques. Training methods include shadowboxing, two man drills and sparring. Equipment such as focus mitts and thaipads enable hard but relatively safe training.
